Synopsis

WORLD'S MOST DANGEROUS PART 2 Somewhere, The Scarecrow finds himself seated on a chair in an empty room, with only the memory of an explosion as he was being taken to Arkham Asylum. He is greeted by a strange man in a purple suit, who explains that he engineered the escape, and that he intends to keep looking out for Crane - if he will agree to answer his call without question. He promises that by joining him, Crane will experience fear such as he never has before - and that, after all, is what Crane desires most.   Meanwhile, at A.R.G.U.S., Green Arrow has returned from his last mission with grave injuries. Before passing out, he had mentioned that the group he had managed to infiltrate on his mission called themselves the Secret Society. Amanda Waller commands Steve Trevor to have the new Justice League of America track down and dismantle this Secret Society, despite his concerns that he has not even begun training them. Waller responds that this mission will be their training. When he questions her judgment, sending an inexperienced team after a group they know virtually nothing about, she responds that the world has changed since she was a field agent, and gives him just 15 minutes to prepare his team for their press conference, and another 15 minutes to brief them on their mission.   Elsewhere, Vibe has arrived early at A.R.G.U.S., and is overwhelmed by the pressure of being asked to join the team when he has almost no experience whatsoever. His call with his brother Dante is interrupted by the arrival of the beautiful young Stargirl, who makes him nervous by her presence alone. They are joined soon after by Martian Manhunter and Katana, and then Catwoman and Hawkman. The latter makes Vibe uncomfortable, as he is covered in blood, which he insists is not his.   Soon, Trevor arrives, and explains that they will all be meeting with the president soon, with Stargirl as their spokesperson - all except for Catwoman, whose criminal record has not yet been fully wiped, and as such, she must remain an unofficial member of the team. The absent Green Lantern, meanwhile, is off-planet, and will not be joining them either. As they leave, Trevor warns Catwoman to be good while they're gone, and in response, she kisses him on the mouth - for luck, she claims. Annoyed, Trevor warns her not to do it again, while she simply smirks. Unbeknownst to him, she stole his wallet, and inside it, she finds a photo of him with Wonder Woman. The photo reminds her that while Wonder Woman ended her relationship with Trevor, Batman had similarly warned her that their relationship would never work, either.   From his mansion, the man who saved the Scarecrow watches the JLA's meeting with the president, in which Stargirl's speech centers around the story of American hero John Chapman - aka Johnny Appleseed. He is interrupted by a call from Professor Ivo, explaining that Scarecrow has been returned to Gotham, but the intruder at the mansion - the disguised Green Arrow - managed to escape.   Later, Steve has the Martian Manhunter enter Green Arrow's subconscious to retrieve what information they can about the Secret Society. Oliver's subconscious tries to fight him at first, but eventually he manages to access the memories. Oliver had taken on a disguise, posing as a criminal. Someone had been searching for the perfect thief for an impossible job, and he had presented himself as the candidate for that job. He was kidnapped and greeted by a strange man in an empty room. Using a hidden arrowhead, he managed to escape his bonds and ran, but he was attacked by the Justice League, who seemed as though they were made of metal.   Oliver wakes to find Steve Trevor standing over him, having overheard Steve say the word "team." Steve explains that while they had intended to work this job together - and alone - it has become bigger than the pair of them, and Trevor has called in a full team. Unfortunately, Oliver cannot be a part of that team; all spots are full. Collapsing back against his pillow, Oliver claims that Steve has sold out.   Leading the team through the Kielder Forest, Steve tries to retrace Oliver's footsteps. While wandering the woods, Katana goes missing, and Martian Manhunter is unable to find her. Something is blocking his telepathy. Before long, Steve finds a lasso tightening around his neck. Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are there, and they warn that the JLA should not have come there. SECURITY DETAIL Since the discovery of Superman's existence, new ways have had to be developed to secure the White House against threats - be they super-human or otherwise. Several new measures have been put in place to weed out super-powered would-be assassins. So, it stands to reason that there should have been no way for one man to get all the way to the oval office, and pull a gun on the president.   However, while Amanda Waller is having difficulties convincing the president of the value of a new Justice League of America, one man saw fit to help the gunman get past security. As the man surprises the president in his office, suddenly, Martian Manhunter drops his human disguise and kills the gunman. Turning to the president, he warns that these security measures are not enough; that the US government needs the Justice League of America.   At that, the president concedes, and endorses the new team's creation.
